This building had belonged for more than a century to the Garrote´s family, an important family of the top part of Cuenca. In the basement of the building, different generations of carpenters have worked to done it. In the decade of the 20´s of last century, they were in charge of adorning with magnificent balconies the hanging houses, symbol of Cuenca.
Unfortunately a recent fired had destroyed much of the building, to construct it again , respecting all the things that could be restore and give them the best modern equipment, has been a difficult work.
Fortunately we have the incredible assistance of a professional stuff, thanks to them Alizaque Lodge is now a reality. All of us have worked and still do, for making your visit at the hotel the best quality as we can. And for making Cuenca a very special city to remember.
Of course as always in the special thanks, we try to put all of the people who are with us, but still miss part of them.
