  • Since 1996, Cuenca was classified as a World Heritage City by the Unesco.It has an excellent conservation of his old quarter, medieval forts, palaces, monasteries…where the harmony between nature and architecture coexist, and does of Cuenca an unique city to discover and visit.

    His interesting historical and cultural patrimony, has been enriched by the direct contact with some of the best contemporary artist, especially those belonging to “El Paso” group (Saura, Chirino, Rivera, Millares,….) and together with others like Torner o Zobel, endowed Cuenca a magnificent legacy, which gives life to the old walls, seminaries, palace´s vaults and monasteries, all of them conditioned as a singular exhibitions rooms.

    The city is also the door to the Cuenca mountains (serranias de Cuenca) that keeps within its cliffs, canyons and hidden valleys, beside the famous “Enchanting city “or the source of Cuervo river. Many natural treasures still out of the beaten tracks.

    In gastronomy is one of the best exponents of the manchega´s cuisine, but without giving up unique meals and cooking creations such us morteruelo, zarajos, resoli, alaju…all typical from Cuenca.

    Cuenca is also famous for his festivals and traditions like San Mateo in September, San Julian carnival in August, o excellent festival Eastern week, considered international tourist interest.
